The date palm is  a  very  common  motif  in Israeli art. It is one of the seven species that the Land was blessed with, the other six being: the olive, the pomegranate, the  fig,  the  grape  vines,  the  wheat  and  the  barley. Throughout the years Yaacov dreamt of creating a grand version of this favorite motif. His dream was realized in 1999 with the creation of a 12 foot high steel sculpture, currently beautifying the garden outside our studio.
